Orvis Sunrise

This project started with a morning trip to Orvis Hot Springs. It was early Spring, and there had been some light snow the night before. The combination of cold morning and hot water created a mesmerizing swirl of light and steam. I had been experimenting with masking tape, and I created this piece from memory over the following week. The interplay of hard lines with soft shapes and washes mixed with dry brush techniques and interference paints give it a unique glow. Currently on display at Camp V in Naturita.
