About Scott Harris:

Scott’s been involved with art, design, and creating from an early age. He constantly plays and explores in all sorts of media, from paint to sculpture to lighting. His current fine artwork focus is on larger format canvas paintings.

In college, he studied as a painting and drawing major. From that starting point, he was swept up into some jewelry work and then quickly absorbed into scenic work. He worked mainly as a set and prop builder, as well as a painter for backdrops and photo shoots. After several years, he decided to strike out into the world, and after a short bit, landed in southwestern Colorado. While living here, he has settled into painting, various artistic installations, wooden sculptures, and custom bonfire construction (true story!). He also continues to play with lighting and electronics projects.

About my Paintings:

All of my paintings are hand made, from the wooden stretcher through the final product. I stretch my canvases with archival quality 14oz canvas, and I use studio grade acrylic paints, which are permanent, stable, and vibrant.

Most pieces include light to medium texture, but I am always experimenting, as texture can add detail and interest. Color schemes and design are usually decided around a theme or meditation. Color fields and areas of detail include integrated washes and layers, building up more complex images. Custom color schemes or personalized subject matter can be incorporated upon request.

I enjoy working in 4-6 foot dimensions. My current work is trending towards smaller consumable pieces, but I do keep supplies on hand to paint in larger dimensions if requested.

All pieces listed on my site have measurements included.

Custom sizes and shapes can be fabricated to fit your personal spaces by request. Please contact me for further details.
